Taking the parents to Townsville!

10/02/14

While my parents were in Townsville for a few days, I wanted to show them around. I wanted to show them all of the places that I go. We started the day off by hiking Castle Hill. It was such a hot day, but the view from the top is very worth it.

The view still amazes me. Dad, Mom, Leighton and I had such a great day hiking and enjoying the beautiful view. After hiking, we decided to grab some lunch at The Strand from a restaurant called LongBoards. It was so good. This was the first place that actually had buffalo chicken, so basically it was the best day of my life. I had a buffalo chicken wrap that was so delicious.

We then decided to walk down The Strand to the Rock Pool and Kissing Point. I am so glad that my parents were able to see the different places that I go.

Our next adventure for the day was the Botanic Gardens. Although Dad was not really a fan of this, I think Mom enjoyed it. I was able to see different parts of the Gardens that I never saw before. It was actually my favourite part too, the cactus! They were so cool. I do not know why I was so amazed with them.

They even had an Americas Zone! Woohoo!

After the Gardens, we stopped at once more place, which was the River. Because I go to the river as often as I can, I wanted to show them what it was like, so they could finally see it.

We were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset. And we also fed the turtles! There were soooo many hungry turtles. While feeding them some bread, many fish came over to eat too, and also, an eel.... Well this changed my mind about swimming in the river, that was a bit scary seeing an eel!

Overall, today was such a great day! I really enjoyed showing my parents Townsville.
