Since we had a spare day, what better to do than go to Magnetic Island to relax? We took the ferry over to Maggie in the morning, and spent most of the day there. One our ride over, we saw two dolphins swimming! It was so cool, and it was my first time ever seeing dolphins in real life!
Mom was messing around with the one wallaby, who kept wanting to grab her gatorade bottle. I also was able to feed another wallaby a piece of an apple! I was a bit disappointed because there were not that many wallabies out today. One man came up to us and told us that they put out sugar cane in the afternoon, so there will be many more wallabies out, so we were thinking of maybe coming back later.
We decided to stop at a place on Horseshoe Bay called Sandi's for lunch. We ordered a couple appetisers, including spring rolls, spagetti, hot chips (french fries), barbecue wings, and spaetzle. It all was very good, except the spaetzle. We ordered it with pork sauce, and it definitely was a wrong choice.
After lunch, we decided to relax on the beach for a while. Dad and I decided to go swimming, and I forced Mommy to come in with us. We brought the Go Pro in, and Dad and I had a blast swimming with it. We wanted to make sure that the floaty did keep the Go Pro afloat, and it did!
On Maggie Island, people can rent little cars to drive around the island. They were such cute cars.
Since we had some time to spare, we decided to go back to the Rock Wallabies. I am so thankful we decided to go back, because there were so many more wallabies out. We even witnessed something awesome! We saw a joey coming out of the mom's pouch. It was soooo cool!
Look at the joey's head coming out.
Again, the joey is popping out.
This is a video of me putting the Go Pro pretty close to the baby joey! It was awesome. I was afraid the mother wouldn't let me go close to it, but the mother let me feed the joey an apple and also come pretty close to it! It was such an experience to witness.
Magnetic Island was such a fun day with my parents. I am so glad that they were able to see how beautiful it is. I am so beyond blessed that they were able to come visit me in Australia, and also travel most of Australia.
