Today, our tour guide took us to Churchill Island. We first took tours of older houses, and got to see how they were set up from the old days. The weather here was absolutely miserable. It was pouring rain, windy and so freezing! I had on long pants, a long sleeve shirt, a crew neck, a sweatshirt, and a rain coat, plus a poncho, and I was still cold!
This tree below was over 200 million years. The sign stating what it is, is in the following picture!
After we finished up at Churchill Island, we were driving to go see the koalas, when Daddy noticed a chocolate factory. We asked our driver if we could stop and see it, as Dad makes candy thermometers. Our tour guide gave us all of five minutes to go in, since we were on a tight schedule, and you could tell that going out his routine was something that he was used to doing..
We ended up buying a huge block of rocky road chocolate. It was full of marshmallows!
Our next stop was the Koala Conservatory Centre! It was finally time for mommy and daddy to see the Koalas! I was so excited that they could see them, but I was sad that they were not able to hold any since we were seeing koalas in their natural habitat.
We learned that koalas sleep 22 out of 24 hours a day, so we were really lucky and fortunate to catch this little guy awake and moving!
This koala was sleeping, and doesn't look so comfy!
This one was also awake eating the eucalyptus leaves!
I am so glad that we were able to see the koalas, and that a couple were even awake and moving! It was awesome to see.
We were now onto the Penguin Parade, but we stopped at an ocean along the way because the view was incredible.
Because we were in the middle of a storm, the waves were insane! They were so big!
It was still freezing outside too, but such a gorgeous view!
The big waves crashing down on the rock!
Huge waves!
Mommy and Me!
Daddy and Me! Mommy and Daddy!
Such a great day with the parents!! We were now off to the Penguin Parade! I was so excited for this!
