Sydney!!! Club Ivy & The Blue Mountains

The Etown gang, Becca, Andrew, Siena, Sara and myself landed in Sydney on October 16th around 6 pm. We were waiting at the airport for our shuttle to come pick us up and take us to the hostel. While waiting around, we decided that we were going to head out to a club that night. Andrew heard from a few friends that Club Ivy was one of the nicest clubs in Sydney and also there wasn't an entry fee on Thursday's so that worked out perfectly and we decided to go there. Once we got to our hostel, we all picked a bed, settled in, unpacked a bit, then took a walk to the liquor store. We all chipped in $2 and bought a box of goon (boxed wine). We went back to the hostel and started pregaming, and then started to get ready and head out to town for the night. On our walk to town, we stopped at a McDonalds to FaceTime the soccer girls. The Uni halls soccer team, which Becca and I played on, were playing two games tonight, one including the semifinals. They had to win the semi's to advance to the finals the following Tuesday, which Becca and I would be home for. While face timing Gabby, Chelsea, Jimmie, and Lucy, they told us the good news that they won semifinals in shoot outs!!!! We were all so excited! This meant that Becca and I would be able to play in the finals on Tuesday! All of us started chanting the Uni Hall songs in McDonalds because we were so happy. We even heard the news that the boys team won in shoot outs also! What a great night for Uni. This meant that both the girls and guys soccer teams would be playing on Tuesday, both against our biggest rival, George Roberts.

Eventually we made it to Club Ivy. It was absolutely insane! So incredible. It was awesome, 4 floors, people everywhere, the most high end club I will ever be in. There was no roof on it, the interior design was so amazing. Lots of dancing, great music, so many people! It was just such a fun time. We all had a great night. I loved being able to spend a weekend away with just the Etown gang.

The next morning, we woke up and grabbed some free breakfast in the hostel. We had the options of cereal or toast. So I made a piece of toast with butter. We then packed some peanut butter sandwiches for lunch, and went on with our day. We walked to Central Station and caught a train to go to the Blue Mountains. It was about a 2 hour train ride, but it was pretty eventful. A young boy, about 16 years old, was getting in trouble with the police. He skipped school, didn't have a bus pass, and did not have identification on him. He was acting very shady and would not say his address, saying he was homeless and all that, so it was entertaining. Finally we got to the Blue Mountains. We stopped outside in a cute park and had lunch in there on a nice picnic table. Once we were finished eating, we took the Charles Darwin Trail to the mountains. Here are some pictures of what our hike looked like along the way.

We saw many waterfalls along the way!

A bit later, we finally made it to the Blue Mountains. Wow. I was amazed. It was spectacular. There were many different cliffs, beautiful big mountains. The hike was very long and breathtaking, literally breath taking, we were all out of breath. It was a very steep walk. We hiked all the way to the bottom of the mountains, where the waterfall was.

Such a gorgeous view!

A huge waterfall!

What a gorgeous scenery!

After the Blue Mountains, we took a bus to the Three Sisters, which is basically 3 rocks.

Such an amazing view! We are so lucky!

The Etown Gang. We were able to walk all the way down to the rocks and actually touch them! It was really cool!

Well this was when the interesting part started. We missed the last bus, and had to catch a train. So our only option was to walk.. We had to sprint for awhile because we were cutting it close with time. We walked, ran, and even tried to hitch hike, but it was unsuccessful. So we just kept having to run. Luckily, we made it to the train station with 6 minutes to spare. Phew, we made it! On the train ride home, we all passed out because we were so tired.

Today was such a fun day. I really loved seeing the Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters. Such beautiful views and we got lucky with such nice weather too. I love Sydney!
