This weekend, Siena and I planned to go to Melbourne to tour around as much as we could! We stayed at a hostel called United Backpackers. We were in an all female room with a total of 12 girls! They weren't really too friendly to us though.. Once we got unpacked, we decided to go tour the city. We found this as soon as we walked out of our hostel (the picture below). It is Flinders Street Station, and it is gorgeous!
We decided to continue walking and just see what we would find, and Siena found this beautiful garden with a lake and all. It was such a gorgeous day, and we had an amazing view.
On our walk back from the stadium to the hostel, we found this alley full of a lot of graffiti. Take note of the blue wall on the left. It will come up in another picture. Many artists just come and fill up this alley. The work here is just phenomenal.
THE ONLY PLACE I HAVE SEEN BAGELS SO FAR IN AUSTRALIA!!
This lady is a Coin Operated Artist. She paints for a bit, and then just stands frozen until people put coins in her jar. Once someone gives her money, she begins to paint again. It was pretty cool!
Her standing there frozen waiting for someone to give money.
This is where Siena and I watched the Grand Final game, along with the rest of Melbourne. So many people were here. It is called Federation Square. It was nice because there was a big screen to watch the game on!
The Hawthorn Hawks won! Good thing we were in Melbourne and not Sydney this weekend!
Some cool building!
This wall the blue wall in the picture from before that was just blank. Earlier in the day, the man was just painting it blue, and when we came back, his whole painting was done. It was really cool to see how much he had done in such a short amount of time!
Monsters Inc!
A Cathedral that was right near us! We got the chance to view this and it was amazing!
On Sunday morning, while waiting for my parents to arrive, we decided to go shopping at the Markets, as Andrew told us that it was really cool! There were many different tables with different venders. They sold everything, clothes, food, art, aboriginal stuff, Uggs, bags, keychains, souvenirs and everything you could imagine. It was a good time! I bought a few tshirts, and a pair of pants!
After the markets, we decided to take the free trolley back, and go to my parents hotel to see if they arrived and they did! I will post another blog about the rest of the weekend with my parents!
