GREAT BARRIER REEF!

So today was the absolute best day of my life and I am convinced that it'll never get better than this. We took a boat out to the Great Barrier Reef and had the chance to snorkel the reef. The boat ride was about 2 hours long and everyone got sea sick and was throwing up. Once we finally got to the reef, I snorkeled for 2-3 hours. It was absolutely insane. The reef was unreal. I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful it was. The coral and all of the fish were just stunning. I saw many types of fish, the parrot fish being my favorite. I saw a starfish, swam with sea turtles and I even saw nemo!

Next we took about 15 minute ride to another reef. And this reef was so different. The coral colors were different and much brighter. And there was a drop off ledge that was unbelievable. I wish I was scuba certified so I could dive down there. Again we saw many schools of fish, and I was hanging out with the turtles. We only had about an hour at this reef. But it was just so beautiful.

It was then time to head in. Our boat ride back was about two hours. I began feeling very sea sick, which is uncommon for me, so I slept most of the ride home. I also have to mention how great Australians are. They are so friendly and so sweet. Everyone just wants to get to know the Americans, so they love talking to us. One guy who worked on our boat today is a kiwi (from New Zealand) and he planned to come work for a year in Australia, but he couldn't leave and has been here for ten years now. Australia is just amazing.

At night, we went our first bar crawl. We had a barbecue at one of the bars and the food was delicious. The bar crawl was $30 for five drinks, a tshirt, and a VIP pass for 25% off drinks. So it was a great night. We took a party bus from bar to bar, and the buses were so fun. The bus was even more fun than one of the bars.

Overall, the Great Barrier Reef was astonishing. The absolute coolest and most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I am so lucky and blessed and thankful to be given this opportunity.
